Open enrollment season is right around the corner for many organizations across the U.S. How are you supporting your employees/plan participants embarking on this exciting annual journey? Our benefits information specialists created a roundup of helpful tools and resources, paying close attention to a big trend this year: leveraging AI for open enrollment needs.  

  • Benefit Basics Templates for Participant: This is a helpful guide to share with employees/plan participants looking for information on a range of benefits-related topics (think FSAs, HSAs, retirement and voluntary benefits). Select resources are customizable, making it easy to add your company logo and share. Minor edits can be made to PDFs using Adobe Acrobat. If more significant changes are needed, use the text version to customize it for your plan.
  • Five Tips for a Successful Benefits Open Enrollment: This quick read highlights best practices for a smooth open enrollment, from addressing health literacy in enrollment communication, to extra one-on-one support for bolstering enrollment in point solutions and voluntary benefits.

  • Using AI in Employee Benefits: Another quick read about leveraging AI for open enrollment. AI isn’t new to benefits or HR—Employers have long used it to screen resumes, and benefit plans have offered decision-support tools. What’s changed is how much smarter and more effective the technology has become.

  • Securing Member Data With the Help of AI (Benefits Magazine article—July/August 2025): This magazine article is about the increase in the number and sophistication of cyberattacks and how that’s made it increasingly difficult to protect employee benefit plan member enrollment data (e.g. date of birth). AI holds promise for better data security while improving members’ experience.
